Leigh Manley

Leigh Manley

Leigh Manley is a poet, writer, and freelance creative facilitator from the Llynfi Valley, now living in Cardiff. His poetry for adults and children champions working-class narratives and perspectives. After turning to poetry following ill-health, his poems also explore themes of recovery, rediscovery, and ableism. And his love of sport! Often known as The Rugby Poet, Leigh was selected for Literature Wales’ writer development programme 2023–2024, and with their support set up a writing squad for learners aged 11–13. He supports Ysbyty Ystrad FM Radio with content creation and advocates for the British Heart Foundation Cymru. Prior to writing Leigh spent 22 years as an award-winning leader at Admiral Group. He’s a graduate of Aberystwyth University, with a BA joint honours degree in English Literature and History.
