Craig yr Hesg was a towering presence that shaped my childhood. I spent countless hours with friends scaling its slopes and delving into hidden corners, letting our imaginations run wild. My ancestors farmed the very land now threatened by the looming spectre of the Heidelberg quarry extension. The thought of this cherished landscape being torn apart for profit fills me with protectiveness and profound sadness. I want to share its magic with my children, keeping alive the traditions and memories binding us to place. As the threat looms, I find solace in joining forces with others, united in our fight to preserve the remains of something precious – not just a hill or cherished green space but a piece of our collective history and identity.
