Robert Rowlands

Robert (Bob) Rowlands is a recently retired biotechnology consultant who has worked in most countries of the Northern Hemisphere and is now comfortably settled down to a quiet life in Cardiff. In addition to his industrial career, he has published over 30 scientific papers and book chapters, and was an Honorary Lecturer in Applied Microbiology at Cardiff University from 1996 to 2009. Born into the Cymry Llundain of a Welsh father and an English mother, he has strong Welsh connections. Having developed a love of words and languages at an early age, he is fluent in Welsh and South American Spanish and has a working knowledge of several other languages. He also has a keen interest in freestyle partner dancing, because this too involves communication.
