Timothy Birkhead

Tim Birkhead is Professor of Behavioural Ecology at the University of Sheffield. He's a fellow of the Royal Society, past president of the Association for the Study of Animal Behaviour (ASAB), and has won awards for outstanding teaching. His research interests include post-copulatory sexual selection, mainly in birds; population biology of birds; the history of science; and reproduction and ornithology in particular. He is the author of a number of bestselling books, including The Wisdom of Birds, The Magpies, and The Most Perfect Thing: Inside (and Outside) a Bird’s Egg.
